SESAC Award Ceremony - 05/10/07

What was supposed to be a straight forward evening turned out to be a mix mash of tom foolery and completely wrecked Englishmen wandering around NYC, one of them looking for his car! More to be revealed my young primitives!!!!

Just in case you don't know, SESAC is a performing rights agency and every year, put on a wonderful and extravagant bash to entertain and honour their clients! They obviously hadn't done their homework on the primms, because if they had, we definitely would not have received an invitation. Be prepared for boyish mayhem if their are drinks and high rollers in abundance, and let me tell you, it was in Abundance! It was held at the Lighthouse in Chelsea piers and spared no expense. From Good quality liqour and exotic coffee to gourmet food and candy, i thought we were at Tony Blair's leaving do at the British Embassy!

The night started of nice and calm with everyone dressed to the nines in their favourite Gucci's and rocawear. Waiters and waitresses in mass numbers hired to keep our hands occupied, in which they did. If i wasn't holding a glass of champagne then i was hi fiving some illustrious rapper, p shnizzy or something....OK maybe not, but you'll be happy to know, the saviour of rock n roll himself was at the party....yes, you guessed it, Dee Snider! Unfortunately, i was unable to get near his highness throughout the party, but did stumble (quite literally) into some very cool people!

As the party slowly started to evaporate, it was reaching 11 o'clock and pleased Andy because he knew that he had a great time and could still be in bed by 12 to recharge his batteries for Friday night's escapades which were to follow! well that wasn't to be the case was it....ohhhh no! it's the primms we are talking about here! I could build it up into this horrifying climax, but i wont....the poor kid had his primm mobile towed, and didn't get home til 3 am. Luckily for him, our trusty friend Jen Maler was their to keep him from getting arrested!

as for me and gav, well, lets just say we got smashed, went home and woke up with bad hangovers! But hey.....whats new?

Wow…What a week…I'm still trying to find my way home....

It all started last Tuesday we filmed a segment for Fearless TV which was so much fun, their equipment is still smoldering!! Why they let beer on set I have no idea, the set itself was the stuff legends are made of but the links! My word, want to throw us off – ask us to say something in unison! I would like say now that it is the sole reason for me learning to sing….so I did not have to talk coherently on camera…We had a blast though and so will you when it's aired…watch this space.

Tuesday evening we shot over to the Annex like a whippet on meths, our mates at Lewd were having another party and I don't miss an open bar – seriously though…if you are ever in need of people at your party, just make it an open bar, you will get us down no questions asked. As usual the best re-mixes of tunes you love. Mutha and REKles get better every week man…or maybe I just get drunker….

Thanks to all who made our mercury show, fun night and I really can't recollect much cos is seemed to go by so quick! The Howling bells were much fun, Aussies and English abroad…like a volatile cocktail! Although it is the first band I have seen play the Mercury Lounge and turn up in a full blown tour bus, with Bunks, trailor and stocked bar…although touring with the killers may have something to do with that….still trying to work out how you turn a profit with that monster whilst playing at the mercury lounge…but we don't do it for profit do we!!! We do it for the drinks tickets!!!!

So you are in for a break from us, we are going into the studio we have some recording to do over the next six weeks but we'll keep you updated via this blog…so stay tuned and we will post some early samples of what we are up too….if one of us can work out how to…

Thanks again everyone for a wonderful week!!

WHAT PRiMMS DO IN THE SHOWER....

Nothing glamorous this morning…it was Monday…Nothing good can happen on a Monday, So don’t ever expect me to wax lyrical on Mondays…but, an observation about myself. I’m sure you have far better things to do than read about me, so I am giving you fair warning that this will be less interesting than a week of Mondays!

Anyway, my observation – I do all my best thinking, writing and concluding in the shower, why is that? as I’m washing myself of my daily sins, the mental activity sky rockets and I’m a human fountain of settlement! This morning was no different…As you may or may not know, We are finishing the writing of our album, We demo songs before choosing to work on them, With the latest batch, one was said to have effing potential but “needed looking at” so whilst in the shower this morning (I have been looking at this song for about 2 weeks now, that is a lot of showering) I found it….the lyric, the melody and the missing pieces…it’s times like these that amazes me. “Say my name, pulling on the strings of my heart, feeling bruised your left hanging in the dark” was the lyric and the missing piece, but how did it surface with such apparent ease?

I can sit at a guitar or a piano for hours and plod away and create nothing short of appalling, but immerse myself in water for 15 minutes and the ideas are as free flowing as the spray I’m washing in….Why? it’s something subconscious, yet I’m conscious enough to focus those thoughts and organize them into palatable conclusions…without really trying…. a study should be made, of why the shower is such a haven for creativity? And if the study shows nothing and I am just a weird water freek…we can always sell it on as Pornography, maybe our mates at Burning Angel would release it.

See you tonight At Lewd Tuesday….

When New York kicks you in the balls!

My Ventures last night took me on not so much a wild goose chase but more of a fruitless search for satisfaction…which I suppose could be the same as a wild goose chase…but I prefer my wording….more Lifetime television.

I was pumped, kicked up and ready for……..Lily Allen? Now before you move onto youtube in disgust and watch that Ok Go video with the treadmills in it…I want to explain and hopefully win your approval…She is from London and so am I (kind of) and a daughter of Funny man Keith Allen, who along with the Blur Bassist Alex James, Wrote probably one of the most awful Football songs ever to kill our world cup. It would seem that Lily from the press and from my mates back in London (one of which managed to download her album onto my I pod without me even realizing until at a party, I put it on Shuffle…and consequently embarrassed not just me but everyone in the room) is Something special and as I am someone who is easily led I wanted to make my own conclusion….or maybe the real reason I went was the 2 hour full open bar….That could have been the attraction thinking about it.

Lily was playing at the Diesel Party at Studio B in The Brook, so…as excited as I get, the trek out to Brooklyn was rewarded with…..A line around the block? Now you may think being in a band, I may know someone who can get me in a bit quicker…sometimes yes but tonight…of course not, it’s windy and I’m dressed like a tart on fleet week! Even Dj Oil or as I know him Lio from the great Kanine records was stuck in line two people ahead of me…At least let the man in who gave us Oxford Collapse and the IO’s!! As the evening was going so well what could go wrong? a friend called and broke the news that Lily had cancelled and that the Klaxons had replaced her….Now I was still pinning my hopes on the Open Bar but the line was not moving and as my testicles grew colder my moves grew bolder!

I decided to catch a band who had played with us at Rothko (rip) a while ago…Illinois were cheering up the Mercury Lounge. I love Illinois, not only are they amazing gentlemen but write the most sincere and catchy songs that they play with such an endearing energy that anyone who stumbles across them end’s up loving the band….I loved them for one song…..I arrived late, so fashionably late that I should be a model! All be it a rather short one.

To top it off when I ventured outside disheartened, lost in thought and frankly pissed…not drunk pissed, irritable pissed. My phone vibrated – an offer to see Kaiser Chiefs! 3 hours old and looking for the time I found that…I was fashionably late again…This made me the last angry man! That pushed me so far over the edge I went to the nearest bar and celebrated my disappointment….

Everyone who lives hear has experienced the New York let down, we have all stood in line and been colder than the president’s heart, but I ask you three times in a night? This has taught me one thing, and my mother taught me this…well she didn’t actually but I picked it up from an episode of Red Dwarf or one of my electrician training classes…I must take something positive from a negative situation…

I will never be fashionably late again….

Laterz…but not late,

Hello Public…

What have we been up to then? Well apart from not much during the Holy week because of our obvious Religious devotion…I sat and watched Footballers wives Marathon on BBC America and let me tell you there is not much football on the wives minds…..

Last Night we went to Lewd, run by our mates DJ Reckless and Seanmuthafuckerroberts, like everything these guy's touch, it's fucking class…first they brought us Lewd at the Skinny (nyc's most underrated but overachieving bar) and now they bring us LEWD Tuesday's at the Annex and it makes Tuesday night the new Thursday! It's great; they spin the best re-mixes of the songs you love to hate that make you love them again….do you get me?

We are always out and about but rarely all of us at the same time but last night was one of those occasions, All four musketeers were behaving badly thanks to the Free Vodka Redbull…What is it with Vodka Redbull…by the time I rolled home I was too drunk to stay awake….yet at the same time to fucking wired to sleep…it's like hell, everything closing down apart from the eyes which were darting around the room like lights at ze Discothèque …I think I eventually slept with my eyes open….don't sharks sleep with there eye's open?

We had a great time, I'm sure we'll be as regular as the hangover that follows – come down and hang with us if you get the chance, although no guarantees are actually made that we'll remember it!

Also, on a slight detour – The PRiMMS are now available on iTunes, so download away so we can afford more nights out like last night…Please!

Sweet Dreams,

Andy PRiMM

We need you darlings!

Our new Friends over at Fearless TV will attempt to interview us after we have destroyed their expensive equipment with our barrage of noise.....and they need your help! They want to know what to ask us, and they want you to be the people to tell em!

Here is your big chance to ask us those question you want to ask, but don't fancy asking us in person.....make them nasty! Send your inquisitions to questions@fearlessmusic.tv and watch the chaos transpire!

We are here to be sacrificed!
